Recession is taking toll on every one including illegals

Recession is definitely taking toll on all including illegals. This guy who is staying in US for last 13 years illegally went to police station asking cops to deport him back to Guatemala back. Yes he wants to go to Guatemala where there has been massive government sponsored genocide. Its still considered as route for drugs between Colombia and US.

I know recession is bad but its not that bad that somebody may want to risk his life to go back to his country where he has no scope and hope of minuscule opportunity to have a good life or life for that matter.

Solution to G-20 Protests

There is hardly a G-20 Summit without serious protests. These protesters protest over anything or everything from wages, violence, global warming or even they will protest about insufficient rains and so on. Even arrival of president Obama was not spared by these protesters.

To avoid these protests there can be three solution,

1. Do not have these summits at all.

2. Do what bankers and high paying financial executives do. Go to some secluded area or country incognito.

3. Have a video conference. Protesters will be confused where to protest.

First option is impossible. If for every protest political leaders stop having summits, they will be job less. Second option would be difficult due to logistics and security. But it works for bankers and financial executives. Third option would be best as these leaders will get their conference (not sure whats the outcome if any). Protesters at max can cry over Internet, no body will be arrested or hurt. May be next year they should try this.

Jobs to ponder

Today I was with my friends discussing about memo sent by a mayor preventing cops to chase criminals what so ever happened resulted in appreciating the dangers associated with being a cop and how un appreciated they are by general public in name of police brutality. Any body remembers f* the Police song? Some how we all agreed that being cops or being pilots or fire fighter could qualify as most dangerous jobs..
But some online search with Forbes.com was kinda surprising to me. According to 2008 Forbes data being cop was ranked as No 10 dangerous jobs and in 2009 list it did not make to top 10. I was shocked. If cops are number 10 then who is number 1?
But going through the details of risk and fatalities involved fishermen, truckers etc rightfully have the most dangerous jobs. Surprisingly and unfortunately they don't make that much money. Definitely one should go through the list and be happy for what we are doing right now.

Flight of hypocriticism

Her supreme Sonia Gandhi, his highness Rahul Gandhi and Sharad pawar woke up one day and decided to fly or travel in economy class. To set up an example of austerity (??) to fellow politicians. Is it not a height of hypocriticism ?? It remembers me one day Lalu Prasad Yadav milking cow @ time of election.

I mean look @ the assets or lifestyles of these elected officials. I mean for Gandhi family the inherited money along with bofors gun deal is sufficient for next few generations and if they remain in active politics and I don't see a reason why not, there will be lot of Bofors, Swiss banks to give them a life of king size. Even for Sharad Pawar with all relations to sugar factories in Maharashtra , BCCI chairman ship etc he himself is another king. But I guess there is always a first time to travel economy.
Though this is not first time they behaved mediocre. I mean the assets which they have declared is within 10 crores each. Can any one believe that? With Gandhi's we do not doubt about their royal lifestyle. Even Sharad Pawar's declarations was funny. I mean when his daughter got married they say 100000 people were invited.
Also none of these politicians own a car. Though they don't need to have one as the get BMWs or Pajeros at public expense. not to forget 30 - 40 % people cannot travel even in public transport. Those who dare to travel dare to travel without money may get thrown out of running trains.

Corruption and India

Got to know this shocking news where a teenager has to loose his leg because he did not had sufficient money to bribe a cop who pushed him out of a running train. More over I could not read this news in any Indian media but it appeared in NY-Times and LA times. I remembered the slum dog millionaire where these papers projected every freaking Indian as a slum dog.

Coming again to corruption, India ranked 85 in corruption index from 133 countries evaluated. Some may argue well there are 47 countries behind India but if one looks @ those countries, none of them are as massive or as perceived stable as India. Most of the countries following India are war torn (like Somalia) or terrorism torn (Pakistan (well it nurtures it) or Afghanistan).

Rape victim commits suicide in frustration for inability to get justice due to lack of Vitamin M (money) to support her. Where as every body is concerned to get a legal help for Kasab. I wont be surprised if he is declared 'not guilty' and set free to Pakistan in chartered plane.

We see corruption from top government officials to grass root level good for nothing individuals. There is seldom a department like defence (Remember Bofors) or public health and safety or Road and transport etc where corruption has penetrated to deepest extent of day to day activities.

It will take lot of courage and determination from every one of us to root out corruption from system and blood.
